Grandmother overjoyed person of interest in granddaughter’s death is behind bars – News21USA

Tommy Moreland, 29, of Dayton, surrendered this morning to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

“If he hadn’t turned himself in and we had located him, all kinds of things could always happen,” Montgomery County Sheriff Rob Streck told News Center 7’s Mike Campbell. “Whether it’s another activity, the activities are always dangerous, or something else. “It’s always better if it turns out that way.”

Moreland was previously named a person of interest in the “continuous shooting” that killed Heaven Washington in Harrison Twp.

Heaven’s grandmother, Alice Washington, told Campbell that she is delighted that Moreland will be behind bars less.
